Mechanical Project Engineer Sector: Hyperscale Data Centres / Engineering & Construction Our client is an established engineering and construction main contractor delivering major new-build data centre schemes across Northern and Central Europe. They provide a full turnkey service, managing projects from initial design and groundworks through construction, M&E installation, fit-out and final handover. With a turnover of €1.3bn and annual growth of 10–15%, they are a market leader within the European data centre sector. The company is now seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join the delivery team for a €500m+ hyperscale Data Centre project in Mons, Belgium. The Mechanical Project Engineer will support the planning, coordination and delivery of all mechanical systems on the project. Working closely with the Mechanical Package Manager, subcontractors and the wider project team, this role ensures mechanical installations are delivered to specification, on schedule and to the highest safety and quality standards. • Assist in the coordination and delivery of all mechanical installation activities
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, submittals and method statements
• Support the management of subcontractors to ensure quality, safety and progress targets are met
• Provide technical support for mechanical systems including HVAC, pipework, plant and associated infrastructure
• Monitor site progress, identify risks and contribute to project reporting
• Work with commissioning teams to ensure systems are tested and handed over correctly
• Ensure all mechanical works adhere to local regulations, project requirements and industry best practice
• Mechanical engineering background with relevant qualifications
• Experience working on large-scale construction, industrial or data centre projects
• Strong understanding of mechanical building services and installation processes
• Good technical, problem-solving and coordination skills
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project team
